The Mayor of Ealing unveils the new ‘Summer Series’ events programme at Greenford Quay, London’s largest purpose-built rental community from global rental developer, Greystar.

Greenford Quay, the newly unveiled purpose-designed rental community overlooking the Grand Union Canal, welcomed the Mayor of Ealing, Councillor Munir Ahmed, to inaugurate its new ‘Summer Series’.

The Summer Series is an exciting programme of events including film screenings, live shows and family entertainment, throughout the summer until the final week of August 2021. Put on by Greystar, the global leader in rental housing and the company behind the Greenford Quay development, the events are open to everyone and completely free of charge to attend although guests will need to book in advance.

The Mayor of Ealing was joined at the launch by Councillor Amarjit Jammu, Councillor Anthony Kelly, Councillor Tariq Mahmood and Councillor Shital Manro, in addition to Todd Marler, Senior Director of Multifamily Operations in UK & Ireland, Jonathon Armstrong, Development Manager and Paul Naylor, Greenford Quay Community Manager, from Greystar.

The Mayor of Ealing, Councillor Munir Ahmed, said: “Greenford Quay is an impressive new development that has completely transformed a disused industrial site along the canal to bring a new community to Greenford. The events programme this summer is exciting news for Ealing residents and we’re looking forward to what the future holds as we welcome new residents, shops, restaurants and services to Greenford over the next few years.”

Todd Marler, Senior Director of Multifamily Operations in UK & Ireland, Greystar, said: “We are proud to have such a special guest opening the Summer Series at Greenford Quay. The Mayor and his colleagues at Ealing Council have collaborated closely with us on this development from its inception and we look forward to welcoming both residents and the wider community to the canal-side Amphitheatre. Greenford Quay is London’s largest purpose-built rental community and has been masterminded to create a walkable neighbourhood with new shops and facilities that everyone can enjoy.”

A screening of Wimbledon kicked off proceedings at the scenic waterfront Amphitheatre, which will be followed by daily showings of the tennis matches and the Euros over the next two weeks. Film screenings are also scheduled throughout the next few weeks, with food carts available on-site for refreshments during the shows.

For three Thursday evenings in July, an impressive schedule of open-air entertainment is lined up for the local community, with an array of musical performances, topical talks, quizzes and comedy events. During the first weekend in August, the Greenford Quay Summer Party is due to take place on Grenan Square, offering family entertainment and local food carts, as well as a selection of giant games that will remain on the square for the month of August. The remaining Saturdays throughout August will bring a variety of fun and interactive workshops and live theatre events for local families over the school holidays.

As part of the visit, the Mayor of Ealing was taken on a tour of the new development, which will offer 2,118 new homes across seven residential buildings and 170,000 sq ft. of retail and commercial space for the local community. Set across 20-acres, Greenford Quay provides a new standard for community-led rental properties with a concierge-style on-site management team and exceptional modern amenities, including a 14th floor gym with views over west London, spinning studio, cinema room, bar and games room, workspace, residents’ lounges, and outdoor entertaining spaces with BBQs, firepits and TVs. At the centre of the development, the Tillermans building launched with 379 studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments facing onto the landscaped public Grenan Square.

A number of useful amenities have recently opened, enhancing the growing sense of community at Greenford Quay. A new Day Nursery run by the award-winning Monkey Puzzle group offers reliable and convenient childcare on residents’ doorsteps and was opened by Prime Minister Boris Johnson in March this year. A Starbucks has just opened, with a Co-op convenience store and a temporary play space and dog park coming soon.

Apartments at Greenford Quay start at £1,330 per calendar month with flexible lease terms ranging from 12 months to three years. To book a viewing, please contact the Greenford Quay leasing team on 020 3131 1800 or email enquiries@greenfordquay.com.
